Escalation: Trump turns to the Saudis!

Iran hits US bases throughout the Middle East. The Ameri cans and Saudis rocket Iran and Shia Muslim militia bases in Iraq. The double blockade of the Persian Gulf and the new one in the Red Sea send spot oil prices up to global-warming levels amid industry fears that Donald Trump has lost the plot. On social media Trump rants and raves against Iran. “We’re going to beat the fucking shit out of them. We’ll be hitting them hard. They’re going to get a beating” he says. And in Gaza and the West Bank the Israelis continue their terror attacks on Palestinian civilians.

The children of Palestine are not alone

Ipswich Woodcraft folk gave real meaning to their ideals of equality and co-operation for a fairer world as they hosted the visit of a group of youngsters from Palestine. They recently gave them a very warm, respectful and friendly welcome at the Friends Meeting House in Ipswich. The visit was sponsored by the Camden Abu Dis Friendship Association. (CAD FA) as part of their Beyond the Checkpoints Programme. This aims to promote visits to Britain and to increase awareness of the horrors and injustices suffered by a brave and courageous people

Labour holds!

The Burnham boost continues on a roll in Manchester. Labour swept the board in the Greater Manchester mayoralty by-election this week. Andy Burnham’s chosen successor, Bev Craig, won the most votes in the election this week. The Faragists came a poor second, followed by the Greens, while the Tories and the Liberal-Democrats trailed behind with the also-rans in the poll for the post left vacant when Burnham returned to the House of Commons to get rid of Starmer and become leader of the Labour Party.
